In this exclusive interview, we catch up with QBaby Worldwide, a DJ whose story began in 2009 at Bounce nights with Rusty Lazer at St. Roch Tavern. Formally part of rap group Nola Fam and shaped by a childhood soundtracked by 2Pac, Cash Money, and No Limit, QBaby has since evolved into a genre-hopping force.
QBaby shares how New Orleans made him unique, his favorite stages from SXSW to The Saint, and why every set is built to surprise, uplift, and represent the city’s one-of-a-kind energy.​​​​​​​

Tell us about your background, your music style, and the energy you bring to the stage
A:
"Formerly ⅓ of the Rap group Nola Fam. As a DJ, I first started in 2009, djing Bounce Nights at St. Roch Tavern with Rusty Lazer. That was the birth of QBABY WORLDWIDE ( formally known as DJQ). I came from Hip-Hop & Bounce & soon broadened my DJ Skills & explored every Genre. My style is Versatile with crazy transitions."

How It All Started
Can you take us back to the moment you first fell in love with music?​​​​​​​
A:
"It started in adolescence. My mother always bumped 2 Pac, Cash Money & No Limit. I grew up experiencing Bounce culture. I was definitely a street kid, heavily influenced by music. "

What role has New Orleans played in your growth as an artist?A:
"I feel like New Orleans made me unique because there’s no other place like it in the world. No matter what I do, there’s always some New Orleans in it."
